How do I use EmPulse templates to create an email?
Whenever you create a campaign, you can select from 1 of 16 templates we provide. Just select the template you want to use,
and it will be opened for you to edit. The you can just add your text, images and logos and you’re on your way.
Do I need to know HTML in order to use EmPulse?
No, our templates were designed so you can send out professional-looking emails without HTML experience. Since the HTML has
already been constructed for you all you need to do is add your graphics and copy. But we still provide access to the source code
(HTML) for that you can customize the template even further.
What are the steps in preparing an email campaign?
1st - Decide what is is you want to say and write the copy
2nd - Upload the graphic - if they have not already been created
3rd - Provide your basic information about the campaign - From Info, To Info, Subject line etc…
4th - Pick and Edit your template
5th - Pick a list to send the campaign to and test it
6th - Schedule and release the campaign
Can I use my own HTML documents within EmPulse?
Yes, our advanced tool called "Free Form" allows you to copy and paste your HTML file directly into EmPulse. It's an easy
way to create and send an email campaign that matches the look & feel of your website or of your previous newsletters.
You'll just need to have your images and graphics hosted on either our webservers (free with your subscription) or yours.
What happens if my customers can’t read HTML emails?
EmPulse offers you 2 solutions! First, we send out your email campaigns in multi-part MIME, which means that 2 versions of
your email are sent out: Graphical and Text. Second, when you create your campaign with your template, we recommend that you
insert a special piece of code into the text version that, when clicked, will automatically generated a full HTMl version
of that email.
If I send HTML, do I also need a text version?
No - but its better to be safe than sorry. If you are sending your campaign to a list that has elected to receive only HTML,
then they should see your HTML message. However you never know if they may have modified their email client to receive text
only. It may not happen very often, we'd even say that it is a rare exception…But you never know.
What if I need help?
We have "help" located throughout the email construction process to guide you. If you need some suggestions on what type of
copy to include in your email, simply cut and paste the samples within EmPulse and tailor them to meet your needs.
How can I customize a template?
Yes! EmPulse can create a customized email template for your company based on colors and characteristics that you choose.

Will the EmPulse system allow me to alter the size, color and font type of my text?
Yes, EmPulse provides a WYSIWYG editor similar to Microsoft Word Toolbar that allows you to modify the size, color and font of
the text. You can also add bullets, underline and strike through - or super/sub script text.
Can I personalize my email?
Certainly! You can use personalization driven by the most frequently used database fields in the subject line, or anywhere
in the email that you like.
When sending an email through EmPulse will all my recipient's email addresses be displayed in the "To:" field?
ABSOLUTELY NOT! EmPulse will deliver a personalized message to each one of your recipients and only their email address will
appear in the "To:" field. Each person will get a message that is unique to them.
Can I upload attachments to be sent with my EmPulse emails?
EmPulse does not support email attachments on purpose. Network administrators view email attachments as potential virus
threats and in most cases will not deliver the email, or stirp the attachment. We feel that you will be more successful if
you use a link to the document you want to send. Plus, as a link, you can track how many times a certain perison opened it.
With an attahcment, you can't.
How can my member unsubscribe from my emails?
All they need to do is click on the unsubscribe link you provide in the body of the email. They are instantly unsubscribed.
Why do I need to add a postal address to my EmPulse email campaigns?
It’s the law. It's required by the US Federal CANSPAM act signed into law by President Bush in January 2004.
It’s also just good marketing.
