How do I upload my customer database into my EmPulse account?
To manually upload your list, click on the Data Import Icon on the Daily Summary page.You’ll then walk through
the process of naming the list and then you will browse for your file on your computer to upload it through the web interface.
What type of data can I upload into EmPulse?
EmPulse can only accept files that are Comma Separated Values (.csv) format. If you need help converting your
list to the proper format, all the major applications (Excel™, ACT!™, Palm™, GoldMine™, or Outlook™) allow you
to do this. Please consult with the instructions or help for the particular application you are using.
Where does the data go?
Your data will be loaded into your EmPulse account database that resides on a highly secure server in a protected environment.
How secure is the system?
Your data is very secure. The data is protected in many ways. First, there is a physical layer of security as our database
servers are locked in a secure facility that monitors them 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Second, all EmPulse servers are
protected by secure firewall systems from the industry leader, Cisco Systems. And third, unlike all other self-help email
service providers, your data resides in its own database - it can never be comingled with anyone else's data.
Can anyone else access my data?
The data is yours and belongs to no one else. You will have access to it around the clock - and best of all - unlike all
other self-help email service providers, your data resides in its own database - it can never be comingled with anyone
else's data.
How do I extract lists out of EmPulse?
In the EmPulse List Manager you will see all the lists that you have in the system. Locate the list, click on name of the
list to display the list members. Then you will click the "Export" icon and be prompted to indicate if you want to donwload
the list to a .TXT file you can access later, or download directly into Excel.
How do I know which people have opted-in to my list from the "Forward to a Friend" link?
You can view all Forward to Friend activity in the newsletter details report. To save it as a list, click the export function
and save as Excel, then reimport it as a new list.
Are there any limits on the number of lists?
Currently, customers are limited to having 25 lists at any one given time. However, you have no limits on the number of
addresses you keep in the database, or the number of addresses in any given list.
Does EmPulse provide lists for sale or rent?
No, this is not currently a part of the services that are offered with EmPulse. You will need to supply your own list
of opt-in email addresses in order to use EmPulse.
Can I use rented lists with EmPulse?
No - The use of third-party email lists is prohibited within EmPulse. For more information please contact our
