FAQ :: Reporting
What types of reporting does EmPulse have?
Within EmPulse, all reporting is contextual and graphical! That means that when you want to see how a campaign has performed,
you don’t have to build a report via a complex reporting tool. Just look at the campaign and you'll see when the campaign was
sent out, the total amount sent, the bounce rate, the unsubscribe rate and even the unique open and click rates. Bounce and
unsubscribe data is presented in the address manager, sorted by campaign. A very impressive feature of our campaign reporting
is the ability to provide real-time click-through rates for each link contained within your email. You'll also get a charted
version of the report in either a pie or bar chart (if you are graphically oriented).
What about Survey Reporting?
Our survey reporting is also contextual. But since a survey will be linked to an email campaign, we provide you a summary
rundown in the newsletter results that show how many people have taken the survey. That is a link that directly opens the
survey module and calls up the results of the survey. The survey results are viewable question by question, with the ability
to see who answered what question. You can even download and export the profile info for the people who responded a certain
way to a given question. And let's not forget to tell to that you also can view the results of each question as a chart.
How can I tell who "opened" my email or "clicked" on a link?
When viewing the details screen for a completed campaign you will be able to download a copy of who "clicked" and/or "opened"
for that campaign. You can save these files to your computer and then simply re-load this data back into your account as a
new list.
What happens to a bounced email?
When an email is sent and we receive a response that there is "no account by that name" or "invalid domain", we identify the
email as a "hard" bounce. As a result, we will no longer attempt to deliver the message. In the case where our server can't
reach the intended recipient's email server (network inaccessible, etc..) EmPulse will attempt to send the email several times
within the first 4 days and 12 hours after the campaign was launched. If the message is still not deliverable after this time
we will flag this as a "hard bounce". Please note that if the recipient server tells us that the "inbox is full", or
"bad connection" ….to name a few, then the email will be recorded immediately as a soft bounce.
How soon can I download my bounces and unsubscribes after I've mailed my campaign?
Here's another place whenever we excel over the competition - to obtain a list of the specific email address that bounced or
unsubscribed from your campaign you don’t need to wait 1, 3 or even 24 hours after you've launched your email. The information
is presented in real-time. As soon we get the info, you'll see it. Once you can see it - just click on the "Export" button and
decide if you want the information loaded into Excel or saved to a text file.
Do I need to delete any unsubscribes or bounces from my list when I want to send another email campaign?
No, EmPulse does all the work. These email addresses will be "flagged" on your list and will not be mailed again the next time you
want to send a campaign. But do note, that you can manually access their profile in the Address Manager and retoggle them to an
active status. That saves you the effort of having to reenter their profile information in the event that someone unsubscribed
by mistake.
When someone replies to the campaign that I send, where does that message go?
Any replies that are generated from your campaign are directed back to email address listed in the "reply-to" email address that
you designated on the first step of the campaign creation process.
Can anyone else see my reports?
No. Your reports are password protected and reside in their own database. That means that no one else can see them except you and
anyone you have shared your login with. Other companies lump your data with everyone else's data (because its cheaper) - and
EmPulse views this unsafe practice as unacceptable.
How often are the reports updated?
The reports are generated in real time. That means that what you see is exactly what is currently happening.
